Merle Norman of Simpsonville
A perfect blend: Miss America and American-made cosmetics.
That’s how Merle Norman store owner Janice Curtis sees it. She is celebrating two anniversaries this year – the 80th year in business for Merle Norman, and the 75th anniversary of the Miss South Carolina Pageant.
As a new executive director for the Miss Fountain Inn and Miss Golden Strip pageants, Janice is excited to encourage young women to become involved in America’s number one scholarship program, and to wear cosmetics manufactured in the USA onstage and off.
“I know how pageants can open doors later on in the business world,” says Janice, who competed as a young woman. “Merle Norman is the top choice for pageant contestants because of its superior coverage and great skincare products.” Janice also offers spa services, and revels in helping her many clients look and feel their best. Pictured with Janice are Natalie Southgate, Susannah White and Lauren Waynick.
Janice, a former paralegal, has enjoyed the growth of her company of six years. “I love it because I see my customers as a family and a community,” Janice says. When not working, Janice dotes on her 3-year-old grandson, Cooper.
