Trade Route
For 20 years, Sherry Smid lived and traveled overseas. Now that she's satisfied her wanderlust, Greenville is benefiting from all the treasures she discovered there. Many Greenvillians may recognize Sherry as the former owner of Pettigru Place Bed & Breakfast, which she and her husband, Fred, operated from 1999-2004. After selling the business the couple followed Fred's job with ConocoPhillips to Beijing. Their time in the commercial heart of China afforded them an intimate knowledge of the quality and variety of the products available in the Asian markets, and a desire to share their discovery with others.
When the time came to return home to Greenville, Sherry saw an opportunity to utilize her understanding of many things Asian and start an exciting new business in her adopted hometown. Trade Route imports handcrafted treasures from China, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Tibet and Mongolia, each of which has been hand selected by Sherry and Louise, her store manager. The store carries living and dining room furniture, as well as artwork, mirrors, lamps and accent items. Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind piece to enhance your personal décor, needing a special order for a client or just a unique gift idea for a friend, the international experts at Trade Route can help.
