“There has been some pent-up demand,” says Walker, a professional watchmaker whose interest in watch repair started at age 17. “When customers have some money to spend on a fine gift for themselves or a loved one, they want something that’s valuable and practical.”

When not working, Walker enjoys playing the banjo and spending time with his wife of 32 years, his three children, and two grandchildren.
